Darts is a classic indoor target game that blends accuracy, strategy, and a touch of friendly competition. Played by individuals or teams, the game involves throwing small, pointed darts at a circular board—called a dartboard—divided into numbered segments that determine each throw's score.

The most common version of the game is '501', where players aim to reduce their score to exactly zero, finishing with a double. Darts is a game of skill and mental calculation, making it both fun and challenging for beginners and seasoned players alike.

How the Game Works:
Players take turns throwing three darts each at a standard dartboard, which is divided into numbered sections. The goal is to hit specific areas to score points and ultimately reduce your score to zero.

Key Rules for Beginners:

• The most common game is called “501”, where each player starts with 501 points.
• Points are subtracted from your total based on where your dart lands (e.g., hitting a 20 scores 20 points).
• The outer ring is double points, and the inner ring is triple points.
• To win, a player must reach exactly zero, finishing on a double (e.g., if you have 40 left, you must hit a double 20).
• If you go below zero or don’t finish on a double, your turn doesn’t count (called a "bust").

 

Scoring Areas:

• Bullseye: 50 points (inner red circle)
• Outer bull: 25 points (green ring around the bullseye)
• Numbered segments: 1 to 20 points (doubles and triples multiply the value)
